Mother kills 4 children with a sledge hammer

Eastern Cape police are investigating four cases of murder after four children corpses were found with serious injuries.

It is alleged that the said victims suffered the gruesome assault at the hands of their 32 years old mother after beating them to death with a sledge hammer at KuMhlabubomvu, in the Engcobo Local Municipality.

Reports by police allege that the mother went to sleep with the children who are said to be between the ages of 2 and 11 on Tuesday and the corpses were found on Wednesday morning with severe injuries on the upper body.

She was immediately arrested after the police were alerted about the matter.

She will appear at the Engcobo Magistrates’ Court once the police have officially charged her.
