Masquerading as a photographer only to lure victims into his playground and abuse them, the 32 years old Khululekani Justin Ngqeza made a brief appearance at the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court where he was denied bail.
The Ngqeza has been alleged to being serial trafficker and rapist after being positively identified by several victims.
It is said according to NPA Regional Spokesperson in the Eastern Cape Anelisa Ngcakani that Ngqeza introduced himself as a photographer for modelling agencies where he allegedly lured young aspiring models to photoshoots through Facebook.
He would then arrange private photoshoots with the victims, conduct the shots before assaulting and sexually abusing them.
“It is alleged that he raped a 17-year-old girl during March this year in Port Elizabeth. He also allegedly raped another 17-year-old girl a month later in Komani.”
“After the accused’s true identity was established, the police went searching for him in the Komani area. Members of the NIU and K9 Unit arrested him on the evening of 19 May 2020. He made his first appearance in the Queenstown Magistrate’s Court on 21 May 2020 and was released on R2 000 bail. His next court appearance will be on 29 October 2020” said Ngcakani.
She added that Police are currently investigating a similar case that emanates from the Western Cape that allegedly occurred during October 2018.
“It is alleged that a similar modus operandi was followed. He has however not yet been arrested or charged for this offence. The police are also investigating alleged incidents that emanate from Pretoria” she concluded.
Ngqeza is still in police custody and due to make another court appearance on November 12 pending further investigations.
