Manhunt launched after two people shot and killed in a tavern in Hebron

North West Police Spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone has called on the public to help apprehend suspects involved in the shooting and killing of two people at a local tavern in Hebron next to Ga-Rankuwa.

Mokgwabone said that according to the information they received, two unknown males entered the tavern and utilized female toilets and they were allegedly escorted out and directed to the male toilets.

The duo then used the males’ only toilets as directed. On return from the toilet, they approached patrons and one of them armed with a firearm, allegedly fired shots hitting one male and two females.

“Sadly, Godknows Kgopane (39) and Portia Manale (38) died instantly at the scene while another female (age still unknown) was rushed to hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the suspects fled the scene on foot and are still at large.”

Mokgwabone added that the motive behind the killing is yet to know. Manhunt continues for the suspects.
