Man dies waiting to recode his electricity meter in Soweto

What was supposed to be a productive day for Soweto residents and Eskom unfortunately led to the death of 59 years old man while on the queue waiting with other residents.
Eskom is currently conducting a process of recoding prepaid meters nationwide. Being one of the biggest customers, hundreds of Soweto residents went to Eskom offices and formed queues waiting to be assisted by Eskom officials.
The said 59 years old man, Joseph Fikile Busakwe allegedly left home around 04:00 am, less than an hour later his wife was allegedly called to be told that her husband had fainted and she was asked to rush to the scene.
He was unfortunately certified dead on the scene by paramedics who arrived hoping that he would wake up.
Witnesses at the scene said they saw him speaking with one of his friends on the queue and didn’t see anything wrong with him until he fainted and fell down.
Several attempts to resuscitate him failed until the arrival of paramedics.
