Police confirm an arrest of a 27 years old man from Mmametlhake who was brought to book for illegally trading in items that are still regarded as nonessential.
Officers say they received a tipoff about a man who was deliberately violating lockdown regulations, selling alcohol at his house in Mmametlhake.
Upon receiving information about the said suspect, police officials went to his residence where they found the man trading in alcohol and cigarettes.
He was immediately arrested on the spot and was given a R 6 000.00 fine.
Provincial Police Commissioner Lt Gen Mondli Zuma applauded the members for a job welldone and went on to plead with members of the community to make sure that they don’t find themselves on the wrong side of the law and continue observing lockdown regulations.
Goods worth R 60 000 were confiscated.
