Just not long after losing a court bid have her arrest declared unlawful, fellow fugitive Dr Nandipha Magudumana has released a statement through her legal representatives detailing how bad she has been treated since her arrest.
Dr Magudumana alleged in the statement that she has suffered abuse both emotionally and sexually at the hands of powerful men.
She said she is reminded of the hardships and struggles suffered by women as the women’s month come to an end.
“I have suffered emotional, sexual and financial abuse from powerful men, including some of the most powerful families in SA currently occupying high office in government and business.”
She also said that when the time is right, she will share her experiences together with other female inmates about how their basic human rights are being violated.
She spoke out against documentaries about her without her and her legal representatives’ knowledge and involvement.
Magudumana did not mention the alleged powerful people she speaks of.
“Lastly and most importantly, to my beautiful children, I miss you so much and mommy loves you. Mommy is fighting with everything she can to be with you again.”
