Amakhosi has temporarily redeemed themselves in front their home fans this past weekend at the FNB calabash after thrashing visitors AmaZulu 3-0.
This follows last week’s chaos where coach Molefi Ntseki was thrown with small objects after losing 1-0 to TS Galaxy through rookie mistake by keeper Peterson.
All thanks to Mmodi this time around who scored two goals and the third one from Castillo.
Mmodi opened the goals in the 4th minute.
Both of his goals were created by sublime.
The build-up to the opening goal was exquisite. Barely three minutes in, S’fiso Hlanti’s perfectly timed pass released Ashley Du Preez clear down the left wing. His cut-back was met by Tebogo Potsane, whose shot was blocked, but fell into the path of Mmodi who tucked the ball away to give Amakhosi a flying start.
Mmodi came back in the 59th minute to score second goal and Castillo put the final nail in the 8th minute.
This was Amakhosi’s first win in the league and hopefully they will keep up with the win into Wednesday night’s away trip to face Stellenbosch.
They will also face the league title holders Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of the MTN8 semifinal next weekend.
