Health Ministry records over 4 000 Covid-19 cases

Disappointing developments in an attempt to curb the spread of Covid-19 as Health Department records over 3 000 cases in the past three days in a row having registered a maximum of 2 000 positive daily cases for the past month of more.
The Health Mister Dr Zweli Mkhize said that the department has recorded 4 236 positive cases in the last 24 hours with Gauteng still accounting for most cases followed by KZN and Western Cape.
“53 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 1, Free State 17, Gauteng 27, Kwa-Zulu Natal 5, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 3 which brings the total to 55 772 deaths.”
Minister also added that there are developments in the vaccination rollout plan.
“We are currently preparing for the public dashboard to go live on Monday and therefore data verification processes are under way over the weekend. We have undertaken a decision to report data as at 23.59 of the previous day, as we do with the daily statistics currently reported in the Minister’s daily report” said Minister Dr Mkhize.
