Health ministry records 27 878 covid-19 cases in just two days

Number of confirmed covid-19 cases have now moved from a little less than 190 000 to 215 855 in two days.

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize said on Sunday night that number of confirmed cases were sitting at 187 977 by evening and on late Tuesday evening numbers went up by 27 878.

“As of today the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases is 215 855, the total number of deaths is 3 502 and the total number of recoveries is 102 299” said Mkhize.

Western Cape still continues to be the epicenter now followed by Gauteng at 71 488 confirmed cases.

Health experts predict that Gauteng will soon overtake the Western Cape.

Northern Cape has the least cases at 888.

Number of completed tests is now at 1 907 532. Of the new 192 confirmed related deaths, 75 are from Gauteng, 44 from Western Cape, 22 from KwaZulu Natal, 15 from Limpopo and 36 from Eastern Cape.
