“Give us space to resolve our issues”

Following a week long of undesirable media attention, the couple DJ Maphorisa and Thuli Phongolo have asked for space to resolve their issues.

The couple released a joint media statement on through their legal representatives.

Thuli Phongolo opened assault case against the boyfriend Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe popularly known as DJ Maphorisa last week saying he assaulted her in her apartment when she was trying to resolve an issue they had a night before at a gig he had.

In a statement to the police by her, she alleges that an argument ensued which to him taking her phone and to the balcony after assaulting her.

She then opened a case on the same day, Sunday and he spent the night in the police holding cells and was released on R 4000 bail the following day.

However, Phongolo went on to withdraw the charges but the court told Maphorisa that the bail still stands until the charges are officially dropped.
