Former National Assembly Speaker wants more evidence released to her

The High Court in Tshwane has further postponed corruption case against former Defense Minister and National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Ngcakula to December 5th.

Mapisa-Ngcakula who is still out on R 50 000 bail is accused of taking bribery money from a service provider, Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu during her tenure as the Minister between 2016 and 2019.

It is said that she took R 4,5million of which R 2.1million of it was allegedly taken in cash. NPA’S Henry Mamothame said that Mapisa-Ngcakula made a court application where she wanted further disclosures of the case.

“The State has disclosed the “A” section of the docket which contains evidence, which is the norm regarding docket disclosure. Mapisa-Nqakula seeks disclosure of the “B” and “C” sections of the docket which contain correspondence and the investigation diary respectively.”

Mamothame added that they intend to oppose the application. She is facing 12 counts of corruption and one of money laundering.
