Goitsemodimo Molapisi, the father of a 30 years old woman Lesedi Molapisi from Botswana who was arrested in Bangladesh says the claims that his daughter has been executed are not true as he has been receiving communication with her through a middle-man, African association in Bangladesh.
Molapisi was arrested earlier this year in January at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by customs officials after allegedly being found with over 3kg of heroin-like granular.
This is according to the local newspaper in the country who said that Molapisi’s apprehension came after a secret information was conveyed to the officials and secret intelligence about an arrival of a woman who had drugs on her.
“After scanning her bag, the customs officials seized over 3kg of heroin-like granular substance woth Tk 20 core in eight polybags” read the article from the NewAge.
Molapisi made headlines this past Thursday after it was reported that she had been executed for drug trafficking because countries like Bangladesh have strict laws and rules on drugs.
However, her father dismissed the claims during an interview with Newzroom Africa saying she had been in contact with her and she had told him that she is due to go for a trial.
He also added that they only found out about her arrest through the media and no one from the country had informed them as the family about her arrest.
