The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have not turned back on fighting for the recognition of Mather of Nation, late Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela in the struggle and the role she played for us to enjoy this freedom.

The red berets say Mama Winnie is not given the proper appreciation also taking into consideration how a house she used to live in during the apartheid years, which was meant to be turned into a tourist attraction is yet to be properly developed.

In recognition of the struggle stalwart who passed away at the age of 81, the EFF say the Cape Town International airport should be renamed in Winnie Madikizela-Mandela airport.

These words were repeated by the party in what would’ve have been her birthday had she been alive. They first brought the suggestion forward in 2019 at the National Assembly.
