Court appearance of Eskom employee for defrauding the Utility of over R 14million

Court appearance today of a 42 years old former Eskom employee who allegedly participated in defrauding the power utility of millions of Rands.

Thandeka Innocentia Nkosi made an appearance at Hendrina Magistrates Court on Friday on charges of fraud, theft and money laundering for allegedly colluding with a director of Angel Frost Investment (PTY) LTD which saw Eskom losing R 14.7million.

Mpumalanga Hawks Spokesperson Captain Dineo Sekgotodi said her arrested came as a result of an investigation conducted by Eskom Forensic Investigators.

The case was later on handed over to the Hawks Middelburg based Serious Commercial Crime Investigation for further investigation.

She was employed by Eskom at Arnot Power Station as a Senior Buyer at the time.

She is making an appearance for possible bail application and appearance of the other four suspects today.

The accused was remanded in custody. Investigation continues.
