Estimated reading time: 3 minute(s)

Commission of inquiry into state capture is set to commence on the 14th of January for the first time this year.

In a statement released earlier today the commission said the chairperson Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo will first hear applications made by the commissions’ acting secretary on issuing summons for former President Jacob Zuma to appear before the commission on the 27th to 31st January.

The former president had since failed to appear before the commission for the second session late last year citing medical conditions.

The chairperson will on the same be hearing evidence on Gupta aircraft landing at the Waterkloof Air force Base.

The inquiry closed the session with evidence from former Free State Premier Ace Magashule’s former Secretary Ms Moroadi Cholota last year.
