Brothers Found Guilty of Defrauding SARS R 1.5million in Mpumalanga

The Provincial Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation in Mpumalanga Major General Zodwa Mokoena has welcomed the sentencing of two brother who defrauded South African Revenue Services (SARS) R 1.5 million over ten years ago.
46 years old June Maphanga and 46 years old Godfrey Maphanga were guilty by the Nelspruit Regional Court on Tuesday, 18 February for committing fraud, money laundering, forgery and uttering through their construction company.
The brothers also submitted false tax returns information to SARS with the money amounting to R 1 548 119.19.
They were sentenced to ten years each behind bars.
