The governing party African National Congress (ANC) has confirmed that their Secretary General (SG) Ace Magashule has been temporarily suspended from the party based on their step aside rule.
Magashule has been charged for his alleged involvement in fraud and corruption matter relating to a R255m asbestos project in the Free State where he was accused of not doing oversight and turning a blind eye to corrupt activities during his term as a Premier.
It is reported that the party based their reasons for Magashule’s suspension on this recent court case pending the final outcome of it.
But Magashule and several other party members have argued that this is just an excuse to get rid of certain party members with a different perspective on how things are run in both the party and the government.
