ANC Leader Resigns Behind Bars after an for Lockdown Regulations Violation

ANC leader who was arrested this past weekend for drunk driving and contravening disaster management act in the Eastern Cape has resigned from from both his municipal duties and the party.

The councillor who is said to be the party’s treasurer in the Chris Hani region and chief whip handed in his resignation letter behind bars as he awaits his court appearance.

While waiting to appear on this case it is said that he also has an outstanding warrant of arrest for a speeding offence in Free State.

Added to this recent offence the police also say that he resisted arrest and attempted to flee the scene on Friday.
