Amakhosi gunning for nothing less than 3 points against Chippa United

Estimated reading time: 4 minute(s)

Coming from a much needed, tough and emotional win match against the Premier League title holders Mamelodi Sundowns, Amakhosi is set to resume their Betway Premiership campaign on Saturday with a trip to Gqeberha, against Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium.

While head coach Nasradine Nabi seems shattered with the hopes of finishing the 2024/25 season in the top 3 as planned, he said there is still a lot to play for and players shouldn’t put their heads down. The team says the only they are only playing for a win and nothing less because they want to bring the team to its former glory.

The Phefeni boys have also been unlucky with some of their key players getting injuries at the time when they are really needed. With injuries to key defenders, Rushwin Dortley and Inacio Miguel, recently, Given Msimango has stepped up in their absence to play a leading role in marshalling the Chiefs rear guard.

“Personally, I’m in a good space. I have been putting in the hard work on and off the pitch and I feel confident in my contribution to the team. It’s always about improving, staying consistent,” says the Brakpan-born centreback Msimango.

“I believe my focus has started showing in my performances and I’m just looking forward to maintaining good form and helping the team.”
