Akanyang Rakodi given two life terms plus 20 years for the murder of a 25 years old teacher

Mogwase Magistrates Court has handed down over 15 years plus two life terms for a 41 years old Akanyang Rakodi for the murder of a 25 years old teacher.
Rakodi was arrested on July 3rd, 2020 at Goo-Mokgatle Section in Dinokana village outside Zeerust during a crime intelligence driven operation.
School Governing Body (SGB) members of the school where the 25 years old Khumontle Mokgosi was employed started being on alert when she did not report for duty. A search party consisting of the SGB and neighbours ensued and her lifeless body was found with both hands and feet tied in her rented room on June 29, 2020.
During the arrest and apprehension, Rakodi was found in possession of Mokgosi’s two cellphones, clothes, car battery and a bank card which it was later on found that it was used to withdraw money at ATMs in Northam and Zeerust.
He was sentenced to a life term for rape, life term for murder, 15 years for robbery and 5 years for fraud.
