Suspect on the run after killing officer at a car wash

An argument that started with a parked car bump at a car wash in Mpumalanga has led to a 44 years old Police Sergeant losing his life.

This is according to Hawks spokesperson Captain Dineo Sekgotodi who said that information at their disposal say that the now deceased officer who was off duty was at a car in Kanyamazane waiting for his turn to get his car washed when the alleged suspect bumped into him but later on made an agreement for the damage to be repaired.

The agreement was allegedly witnessed another police officer of a R 5000.00 for the damage to be repaired. He drove the suspects’ car to the deceased parent’s home leaving them at the said car wash.

Upon returning to the scene, he found the deceased shot dead and the suspect fled the scene.

He was also shot at while trying to apprehend the suspect before fleeing as they were shooting back at each other.

The police are requesting anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of the perpetrator to contact the Investigating Officer Captain Mduduzi Comfort Mkhonza  on 082 304 0052. All information received will be treated with confidentiality.

The police are also requesting  Sibusiso Maseko from Mariti, whom they believe can assist them in solving the murder case to come forward by contacting the Investigating officer Captain Mkhonza or report to his nearest police station.
