A teenager sentenced for the murder of an old lady in Loding, Vaalbank

Mpumalanga Acting Police Commissioner has welcomed the sentencing of a 16-year-old girl in a case involving a tragic incident that occurred in August 2023 at Loding Village near Vaalbank which led to an old lady victim to lose her life.
The court heard that the 64 years old victim, Ms Grace Sebothoma was stabbed multiple times by the now convicted teenager during a robbery where her belongings were taken in August 2023.
The teenager was sentenced to a total of 18 years’ in prison for her role in the murder and aggravated robbery of Ms Grace Tebogo Sebothoma on August 14th, 2024.
In addition, the accused received a 10 years’ sentence for the robbery with aggravating circumstances.
The court ordered that the two sentences run concurrently.
