“Covid-19 recovery rate now sitting at 95%” Mkhize

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says as of 24 April, the country has recorded almost 1.6 million Covid-19 cases.

The department has registered a total number of 1 574 370 total number of cases having recorded 1 385 new cases in the last 24 hours with Gauteng still accounting for most cases at 421 598 total number of cases followed by KwaZulu Natal having recorded 336 228 cases.

“Today, 59 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 3, Free State 8, Gauteng 30, Kwa-Zulu Natal 13, Limpopo 5, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 0, which brings the total to 54 125 deaths.”

Minister Mkhize concluded by sending condolences to those who lost their loved ones through the pandemic.
