53 years old man arrested for the alleged murder of ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend

A murder case against Jonas Rabaitsile Matshane also known as Rambo has been postponed to April 7th for formal bail hearing.

The 53 years old Mastshane is said to be a number one suspect on the killing of his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend Moleko Radebe.

SAPS Spokesperson Captain Sam Tselanyane said that the incident happened on Saturday, 27 March 2021 at about 11:00, at the farm Buffelsvlei just outside Ventersdorp where Radebe was seen by residents of the farm on his way to the farm but he never arrived.

Coincidentally on the same day around the same time, Mastshane was the last person seen leaving the farm where Radebe went.

The ex-girlfriend then went on to report his current boyfriend, Radebe missing at the local police station.

A day later Matshane was seen coming from the direction of wheat fields holding a spade.

“A search for Radebe was initiated and on Tuesday, 30 March 2021, the lifeless body of Radebe was found in a shallow grave in the wheat fields not far from farm workers’ houses. Furthermore, it is alleged that Matshane left for Klerksdorp on Monday, 29 March 2021 and never returned. A search for Matshane ensued and on Tuesday, 30 March 2021, he handed himself over to the police in Klerksdorp, he was then detained and eventually transported back to Ventersdorp. He was charged with murder and defeating the ends of justice” said Captain Tselanyane.

Matshane will remain in police custody as investigations also continue.
