Businessman found guilty of murder and attempted murder of Concerned Tshwane Residence members

The High Court in Tshwane has found a businessman guilty of two counts of murder and attempted murder.

It is said that the 44 years old Pakistani national Muhamed Sajid Khan was approached by Concerned Tshwane Residence (CTR) on February 1st, 2020 in attempted to confirm if he is the rightful owner 9 properties in Luttig Street in Pretoria West.

This is according to NPA Spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana who said that the said six (6) members of the CTR were met with resistance by Khan.

“Upon arrival, an argument arose between Khan and a member of CTR, Khan took out a gun and shot the deceased and a bystander who also died on the scene and attempted to shoot another member of the CTR team.”

“the members of CTR went to the police station to report the matter, when they arrived they saw Khan and because of fear of what he might do, they did not enter the police station instead, but went back to the scene of the shooting according to the testimony by the witnesses in court” said Mahanjana.

Mahanjana added that Police later on followed the witnesses to the crime scene for further report and investigation on the matter.

Khan was later on released on R 10 000 bail after handing himself over to the police two days later.

His bail was later on revoked following a successful application by state Adv. Eric Sihlangu.

He is now in police custody awaiting sentencing on May 31, 2022.
