The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) has decided to drop a rape case against DJ Fresh and Euphonik due to insufficient evidence.

The NPA released a statement yesterday saying there wouldn’t be any prospect of prosecution should they decide to continue with the case.

“With regards to the DJs Fresh and Euphonik matter, the docket was indeed presented to the prosecutor. Upon perusal of all the available evidence in the docket, a decision not to prosecute was taken.”

“There are no prospects of successful prosecution on the available evidence, because the evidence is insufficient” said the NPA.

The case of the alleged rape against the two DJs saw them also losing their jobs on air where their respective radio stations decided to take them off air to clear their names.

A woman laid a criminal complaint against the two DJs after accusing them of drugging and raping her in 2011.
