Absa Parts Ways with PSL as Sponsor

Premier Soccer League (PSL) announce end of relationship with it’s long time sponsor Absa.

The league said this in a statement Thursday night that the 16 years relationship they had with the sponsor will not be renewed come end of this season when the contract expires.

Absa Group’s Chief Executive Daniel Mminele said none renewal of the contract doesn’t mean complete divorce as they will are set to consider exploring alternative options to continue the relationship.

“We have enjoyed a long, fruitful relationship with the PSL and have supported the PSL’s work in South African football and sports development. While we will no longer be the anchor sponsor for the PSL, soccer will always remain close to our hearts”

He also added by thanking the PSL for the excellent relationship.

The league’s Chairperson Dr Irvin Khoza thanked the Group for strengthening the league to true professionalism.
