Suspects arrested in Nokaneng in connection with disappearance of a couple

Police in Mpumalanga have confirmed arrest of more suspects in connection with the disappearance of a journalist together with his girlfriend, Aserie Ndlovu and Zodwa Mdhluli.

“In the early hours of this morning, around 01h00 am, the SAPS members from Crime Intelligence in Mpumalanga, Mpumalanga Provincial Tracking Team, and Mpumalanga Provincial Organised Crime Unit made a significant progress in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance and kidnapping of Mr. Aserie Ndlovu and Ms. Zodwa Precious Mdhluli.”

“Three additional suspects, aged between 23 and 43, were arrested at Nokaneng area in Kwamhlanga, bringing the total number of arrested suspects to eight (08).”

The couple had been reported missing since February 2025 and unfortunately their decomposed corpses were found in Limpopo Rust De Venter.

“The five suspects previously arrested have been in custody and already appeared in court as of last week. The three arrested suspects today (13 May 2025) are expected to make their court appearance at the Kwamhlanga Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 14 May 2025 facing charges of kidnapping, hijacking and house robbery” said Lt Colonel Jabu Ndubane.
