Friends slapped with a combined 205 years for murder

A murder case against one of the three accused convicts has been postponed to October 10th to 16th.

The 32 years old Karabo Makhubedu is the third of the 41 years old and 25 years old Vusi Sihlabela and Norman Mokoena respectively who on 02 June 2019 entered a local tavern at Marite Trust near Hazyview and randomly targeted as well as robbed a man of his wallet.

Upon hearing the following day that the victim had reported the incident to the police they hunted him down, found him at his house and shot and killed him. They also shot and injured his nephew in the process.

Sihlabela was arrested two months while the other two were arrested the following year.

All three accused were given a total of 205 years imprisonment for murder and a combined years for robbery with aggravating circumstances, attempted murder, unlawful possession of a firearm as well as unlawful possession of ammunition.

Sihlabela was given 75 years while the other two got 65 years each.

Captain Dineo Sekgotodi said they are yet to make further court appearances on other cases.
