Police have asked for public assistance in locating murder suspect(s) involved in a random shootout at a local tarven in Ga-Rankuwa which led to the death of two patrons and injury of several others.

Police Spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello said that the incident occurred at around 23:00pm where a silver VW Polo allegedly drove past the tarven and started to randomly fire shots, leaving seven victims injured.

Sello urged anyone who may have information about the incident or the suspects, to report at the nearest police station or on the Crime Stop Hotline at 08600 10111 and anonymous tip-offs can also be reported via MySapsapp.

The motive behind the shooting is yet to be known.

This also brought a question behind the killings in tarvens following recent random shootings that occurred these past weekends in KZN, Alexander and Soweto which saw 16 people falling victim.
