76 years old traditional healer arrested for allegedly raping 16 years old girl

A 76 years old suspects remains in police custody after making a brief appearance at the Warrenton Magistrates Court.

The old man who is said to be the traditional healer is facing charges of alleged rape of a 16 girl who is the daughter of the alleged healer’s student.

Reports allege that the suspect who is also the family’s traditional healer and also assisting the victim’s mother through the process of becoming a traditional healer had raped the victim on two different occasions whenever he came to perform rituals at victim’s place.

The victim ended up informing her mother who later on went to the police to open a case and the suspect was arrested on January 10.

He is due to reappear on 20 January 2021 for a formal bail application pending further investigations.
