28 years old mother kills her 1 year old toddler

A 28 years old woman has been arrested on alleged murder of her 1 year old toddler.

It is said according to Police Spokesperson in the North West Colonel Adéle Myburgh the grandparents reported that they saw the 28-year-old mother leaving the house in Dryharts with her 1-year-old baby, but returned alone later.

This is said to have occurred on Friday, March 11. Upon noticing that the toddler is nowhere to be found, they questioned the young mother who could not give them satisfactory answer.

Police were later on informed about the suspicion and the concern the grandparents had.

“Subsequent investigations led the police to an open bushy area, where the body of the baby was found on Saturday afternoon, 12 March 2022. Preliminary investigation revealed that baby had what appeared to be a stab wound in her neck”.

Col Myburgh added that the toddler was declared dead on the scene.

The mother was immediately arrested.
