Investigations into the alleged murder plot of a husband by his 40 years old Mariam Tau by police in the Northern Cape still continues.
Tau has been in police custody since May 15, 2022 following her arrest at the Indian Centre in Kimberley, after a week-long intelligence-driven and surveillance operation, led by the South African Police Services (SAPS) and its undercover agents.
She was denied bail on May 27th following brief appearance and successful opposition by the prosecution who argued that the husband’s life would be in danger should she be released.
NPA Spokesperson Mojalefa Senokoatsane said that Tau came back again with an intention for bail re-application.
Senokoatsane says the accused said that she has new evidence she wants to present in court for her bail re-application.
The matter was transferred to the Kimberley Regional Court.
She is facing a charge of conspiracy to commit murder. Her new bail application will be heard on September 7th.
