Two Nigerians illegally in the country found with drugs worth over a million

Mpumalanga Hawks spokesperson Captain Dineo Sekgotodi has confirmed the arrest of two foreign nationals of Nigerian who were found in possession of drugs with an estimated value of R 1.2 million in Mpumalanga.
Their arrest came as a result of a collaboration of the multidisciplinary team.
Captain Dineo Sekgotodi said the that two Nigerian nationals, consisting of a 39 years old Benjermin Ezirim and 37 years old Christian Valentine Uchenna were arrested during multidisciplinary disruptive operations conducted by the team comprising of Secunda based Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Serious Corruption Investigation, Serious Commercial Crime Investigation, Standerton K9 Unit, assisted by ACSU Security on Thursday, 28 November 2024 Volkrust Mpumalanga.
She said that they [Police] received a tip off about the alleged criminal activities conducted by the duo at an address that was supplied to them.Upon arrival at the identified address, the suspect attempted to dispose the evidence by flushing some of the drugs down the toilet.
The suspects were apprehended and taken to the vehicle where more drugs were found hidden in the body of the vehicle and tyres.Further investigations also revealed that the duo had no legal documents to be in the country.
The following seizures were made:
• Cash : R2000 in different notes.
• Five cellphones estimated value R15000
• Silver weighing scale estimated value R200
• Silver Mercedes-Benz C180 with an estimated value of R400 000.00
