Traffic officers face corruption charges

Two traffic officers are set to make a court appearance today at Stilfontein Magistrates Court to face corruption charges.
It is said that the officers stopped a motorist who was driving while drunk. Upon arresting him, they suggested that he gives them R 2000 for his release but he only gave them half of the money and promised to pay the remaining balance later.
The complainant took the matter to the Hawks’ attention when they demanded the remaining balance, as a result, an entrapment was set, which resulted in the officers being caught soon after accepting R2000.00 cash from the complainant.
