ANC and South African President Matamela Ramaphosa has called out for qualifying citizens to go out in their numbers come October 27 to cast their vote.

He said these words on the 27th year of freedom day at Botshabelo in the Free State yesterday.

President Ramaphosa called on people to vote any corrupt official out of power this coming local government elections in October.

“These elections are an opportunity to make your voice heard and be part of the change you yourself want to see.”

“I call on you to determine the future of your own family and your community by putting your confidence in a party that has the best policies, the will and the means to implement them,” said President Ramaphosa.

He also said that in celebrating freedom day we should not forget the less fortunate people who are still living in most devastating conditions.

“It cannot be that 27 years into our democracy that our people are being deprived of even the most basic services like water and sanitation because of poor planning, incompetence, mismanagement or corruption.”

“It cannot be that access to housing, education and decent health care is being undermined because those tasked with service delivery do not care enough.”
