The DA wins back the capital city

The Democratic Alliances (DA) has claimed back the Metro municipality in the capital city after weeks of postponements and chaos in the council.
Cilliers Brink won by 7 votes against Cope candidate, he secured 109 votes while Cope councillor Ofentse Moalusi fell short with 102 votes.
The DA and their coalition partners have accused the ANC and EFF of not wanting to see progress in the election of new mayor by sabotaging the voting processes and aiming to out in a “puppet mayor”.
In his acceptance speech, Brink said he aims to work together with everyone irrespective of their age and gender to build a corruption-free municipality.
