Suspects caught with stolen medical equipment

A case against two suspects accused to stealing medical equipment estimated to the value of R 160 000.00 has been postponed pending further investigations.

Mpumalanga Hawks say that the 35 years old Thabiso Mokwana and 44 years old Norinisha Mayet made a deal with Braun Dialysis centre in Trichardt employee to steal dialysis equipment and give them R 5000.00 in return.

“On Wednesday, 22 May 2024 at about 20:50, the suspects came to Braun Dialysis centre in Trichardt to collect the equipment. The transaction was finalized and the equipment valued at R160 000-00 was loaded in a red VW Polo. The suspects were immediately intercepted and were found in possession of medical dialysis equipment.”

“During the arrest exhibits with an estimated value of R160 000.00 were confiscated including a red VW Polo and R5000.00 cash” said the Hawks.

The were both released on R 3000.00 bail while the case was postponed to July 30th.
