Suspect Caught Stealing in a School by Community Members

Kwa Thema community steps in to help police fight school vandalism.

A suspect was found red-handed inside Nkumbulo High School premises in possession of stolen items that include appliances, kitchen utensils, cleaning material, taps, electrical cords, blanket and some groceries.

While in a separate incident another suspect was caught inside school premises in Pretoria West at Lotus Gardens Secondary School.

Police say the suspect gain entry through a ceiling he damaged.

The Basic Education Department had announced last month that they recorded over 400 burglaries and vandalism across the country since the announcement of lockdown in March.

Several arrests have also been made in different parts of the country.
