“Step aside rule must apply to everyone, Ramaphosa included”

ANC NEC member Lindiwe Sisulu says there are double in the governing party on the step aside rule as it looks like the rule only applies to a selected group of people.

Sisulu was speaking in an interview with SABC’s Political Editor Mzwandile Mbeje where she said the Phala Phala matter calls for President Cyril Ramaphosa to step aside from his position in line with the party’s ‘step aside’ resolution.

Her sentiments are shared by many party members who say that other members were forced out of their positions based on this rule with Secretary General (SG) Ace Magashule being one of the prominent ones.

Sisulu said people need to be treated equally in the party and rules should apply across the board.

She said she intends on putting the matter on table in the next NEC meeting.
