Rape victim gets justice 5 years later

A rape survivor who is now in her mid-teen years has finally found justice following a successful conviction of a 24 years old boy for raping her.

The matter is said to have occurred in 2019, December 3rd when the now convicted was working with the mother of the victim. She asked him to make tea in her room.

Upon arrival, he instead sexually assaulted the young girl who was 9 years old at the time, multiple times.

The victim reported the matter to her mother who in turn opened a case with police and he was arrested.

Making appearance at Kimberley Regional Court, Lesley Meintjies was sentenced to 20 years of direct imprisonment after being found guilty on two counts of rape.
