The Commander in Chief President Cyril Ramaphosa expresses full confidence in his battalion to do an exceptional work in repatriating South Africans in Wuhan, China who wish to return home in fears of being infected with Covid-19.
Ramaphosa said during a media briefing yesterday at OR Tambo that he knows that he has a well experienced and capable military team to work under any pressures and he is also confident they perform task to the best of their ability.
The president was also taken to a tour at the busiest airport in the country, OR Tambo to see how procedures are followed in scanning and checking people for the virus.
He was also accompanied by health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize.
Selected team of South African National Defence Force (SANDF) personnel jetted off to Wuhan late night yesterday.
They are set to repatriate 122 healthy South Africans. The number which is said to not being certain as it was said that they had expected to repatriate 184 people but the number kept on changing because of work and contractual commitments by those working in China.
