Police find an unknown man’s dead body near a river outside Tzaneen

The community of Letsitele outside Tzaneen woke up to a traumatic incident earlier today morning after a man called for help following a discovery of a corpse at the Nwanedzi river.

All this allegedly occurred around 6am when the South African Police Services (SAPS) were summoned to the scene by the community members.

The Provincial Search and Rescue Unit was activated and upon arrival, police found the said body with multiple injuries.

“The deceased who might be in his thirties, was wearing only a T-shirt with blue, white and red colours. A black leather jacket and black trousers believed to be belonging to the deceased were found during the search in the river” said Lieutenant Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist to identify the deceased or with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact Captain Mavis Shiluvani on 082 469 0900 or the crime stop number 0860010111or the nearest Police station.

A manhunt was also launched pending further investigations on the matter.
