Please help find suspects who escaped from police custody

Police in the North West have launched a manhunt and has called on the public to help find and re-arrest three detained who escaped police custody. Police spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh said that the trio, Mpho Vincent Madito,

Thapelo Mogwele Molebatsi and Johannes Mfaladi aged 29, 25 and 28 respectively escaped from Swartruggens police holding cells on Sunday, 8 December 2024.It is alleged that the detainees including the fourth one, escaped after forcing their exit through the roof of their detention cell.

The police managed to trace and arrested one of the escapees, aged 23, whilst hiking next to the N4 road, nin Swartruggens plaza.They are separately facing charges of rape, assault and theft. All of which occurred in Swartruggens.

While trying to trace and re-arrest the trio, the police are also investigating the circumstances which led to the escape.
