Mpumalanga Premier Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane has accused rivalry groups of trying to tarnish her image by spreading false news in her name.

This follows recent reports that were making rounds in the media where it was alleged that a company registered on 29 January 2021 by the name of “Jova Vaccines Supply” allegedly awarded a tender to distribute Covid-19 vaccines belongs to the Premier’s family member.

The Premier responded in a statement saying the allegations are nowhere near the truth.

“Such unfounded and disparaging allegations are part of the attempts by individuals or a group of individuals to tarnish the image of the Premier.

“The peddling of fake news is not only irresponsible, it undermines the efforts of the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) led by the Deputy President to successfully manage the roll out of the vaccines and save lives,” said the Premier’s office.

Premier also pleaded with people to refrain from engaging in any activities that might undermine the IMC and allow it to do its job.
