Moretele 2 records first Covid-19 cases which was confirmed earlier today at Mmametlhake Hospital by Mpumalanga Health MEC Sesekani Manzini.

Two doctors in the hospital were tested positive. MEC said these officials have travel history.

The department says the first doctor had experienced symptoms of the disease and was attended to at private laboratory in Modimolle Limpopo.

Since both professionals share an accommodation, that is unfortunately how the second doctor got infected.

The hospital has also been in the media for wrong reasons recently where nurses were complaining about being short staffed.

This is also as the number of confirmed cases increase from 1 326 nationally to 1 353 as health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize announced today.

He also said that they have so far made a total number of tests 39 500.
