Man in for allegedly killing ex-girlfriend

Court appearance today for John Marumagae Khentu for the alleged murder of his ex-girlfriend in February this year.

The 52 years old man was identified as the primary suspect for the murder the victim because he is said to be the last person be seen with her at a tavern in Hartebeesfontein.

Police spokesperson Capt Aafje Botma said witnesses alleged that the 29 years old ex-girlfriend approached Khentu upon arriving at the tavern when argument about their child started.

“The suspect was seen leaving the tavern with the victim at around midnight. The victim was found dead the next morning in an open field and a case of murder was opened. The 52-year-old suspect was arrested, but the docket was not placed on the roll.”

He made a short court appearance at Hartbeesfontein Magistrates’ Court where the matter was postponed to today for formal bail application.
