Man assaulted by mob after killing a 2 years old girl

A 26 years old man is recovering in a hospital in Mogwase after being severely assaulted by mob for allegedly killing a two (2) years toddler.

It is alleged according to police Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani that the deceased was with the father at the time when the accused walked into the shack where they were in and demanded to see a certain.

The toddler’s father then said he knows nothing about the person he was asking about.

“It was at that stage that the man allegedly attacked the baby’s father who was forced to go outside. He came back moments later and found that the door was locked. As a result, he and the neighbours broke the door and found the baby lying on the bed with head injuries.”

The neighbours then started assaulting the man until the police were summoned to the scene.

Upon arrival of the police and paramedics on the scene at Lerome East village in Mogwase, the little girl was taken to a hospital together with the suspect but she was declared dead at the hospital.

The suspect is expected to appear in Mogwase Magistrates’ Court soon after being discharged.
