Life sentence for a 25-year-old who stabbed girlfriend to death

The High Court in the North West province has handed down a life sentence to a 25 years old man who brutally ended the life of a school teacher almost a year ago.
Police Spokesperson in the mentioned province Colonel Adéle Myburgh said that the now convicted Kamogelo Molorwe got into an argument with his deceased 34 years old girlfriend Busisiwe Jaki in the early morning hours on June 30th, 2022.
“According to evidence heard before the court, he stabbed his girlfriend, Busisiwe Jaki (34), to death with a knife in the early hours of the morning on Thursday, 30 June 2022, after an argument between them. The incident occurred at the victim’s rented room in Unit 4, Mogwase.”

He fled the scene shortly after killing her but was later on arrested on the same day.
He had also been in police custody since his arrest.
The State argued that Molorwe should not be shown any mercy taking into consideration that the incident occurred in the present of the 4 years old child of the deceased.
Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena and the Director for Public Prosecution, Dr Rachel Makhari has welcomed the life term.
