Of the 224 534 Covid-19 cases in Gauteng, Johannesburg accounts for 89 486 cases and 1 775 deaths followed by Tshwane with 50 429 cases and 1 103 fatalities.
This is according Gauteng Health Department who also said they have been hard at work in keeping control of tracing patients who have been in contact with people where were confirmed Covid-19 positive.
“Of the 145 925 contacts traced, 128 160 people have competed 10 days monitoring period with no symptoms reported and therefore they are de-isolated” said Gauteng Health Spokesperson Kwara Kwena.
She added that allocation of cases to their respective districts is still on going working hand in hand with other law enforcement agencies to obtain further patient information.
The province has 4 833 unallocated cases at the moment.
